What is Golem (GNT)?

Golem is an open source, decentralised supercomputer which can be assessed by anyone on a global scale. The Golem Project works on the principle of collecting small bits of data and power and converting it into huge user’s machine to an entire data centre. The main motive of Golem is to create a decentralised sharing economy of computing power and to supply software developers with a flexible, cheap and reliable source of computing power.

The Golem project was founded by Julian Zawistowski who is also the CEO of the project. The co-founder and CTO of Golem project is Piotr Janiuk along with Andirzej Rejulski who is the COO and co-founder. Aleksandra Skrzypczak is also a co-founder and lead software Engineer.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Golem enables users and applications to rent out cycles on other users machines. The users of Golem can make money by sharing resources through Golem from a single PC owner to a large data centre. Golem uses an Ethereum-based transaction system to settle payments between providers. All the computations take place inside an isolated environment from the host’s system. The Golem Project is accelerating towards an automated stage and is launching their first release, the Brass golem which is scheduled at early 2018.
