Road to Crypto Regulations: Events at major cities to collect Public Opinion

Last weekend, I was in Gurugram attending and speaking at an event organised by Blockchained India. The meet-up/Roadshow was organised to get some industry leaders and Crypto enthusiasts from and around town to speak about how India can regulate cryptocurrencies positively.

The roadshow will also be taking place in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The opinions collected from each event will be collated into a report and sent to the government of India.

When I got up there to speak, I think I was the highest photographed speaker over there because of my T-shirt that read an improvised version of a popular dialogue from Hindi film Shahenshah

“Rishte mein to hum Bank ke Baap Lagte Hai, Naam Hai Bitcoin” – Translation – I am the father of all banks, my name is Bitcoin

That being said, the four hour long event was nothing short of insightful. Founders of blockchain/Crypto related companies such as Shantanu from Incryptt labs, Ankit from Koinfox , crypto hedge fund founders Mohit Mamoria, Mohak Agarwal, blockchain lawyer Varun Sethi, Ikigai Law’s partner Aniruddh Rastogi and several other influential people from the space shared their views and opinions on Cryptocurrency regulations in India.

Time for Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad

The roadshow is scheduled in three other cities besides Gurugram in March.

  • March 09 – Mumbai
  • March 16 – Hyderabad
  • March 30 – Bengaluru

The location for Mumbai event is 91SpringBoard, Lotus Star, Andheri East. It is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The venue for Hyderabad and Bengaluru will be released later.

The event has garnered attention from some mainstream media platforms such as Economic Times.

Mumbai Speakers

Akshay Aggarwal, co-founder of Blockchained India confirmed as many as 20 founders of various companies across multiple industries are going to be present at the event. Some of the names shared with Coin Crunch India include Nischal Shetty, CEO of WazirX exchange and Nishith Desai from Nishith Desai Associates.

I personally plan to sit in the audience this time around as I would like to ask a lot of questions and eat Pizza (if offered).

The series of events are part of the road leading upto “India Dapp fest” to be organised in May 2019. IDF is designed to be a gathering dedicated to blockchain based distributed applications having topmost visionaries, researchers, creators, influencers and enterprising minds.
