Short Film on Transgender Community in India aided by crypto trading during the Pandemic

The film on CoinSwitch Kuber, a crypto exchange’s channel has highlighted the condition of the LGBTQIA+ community during the pandemic in a short film.

On the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day, CoinSwitch Kuber, an Indian crypto exchange, through a short film has talked about the struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community for getting accepted.

For more than a century, the community has been denied basic rights. And amidst a global pandemic, it needs more attention.

What is the story?

The film features a person bearing the name Ankita Mehra belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Ms. Mehra defines her idea of freedom as sharing with others. Consequently, she wishes to give it to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Mehra wishes to earn money not only for herself but also to contribute to the community. That’s why she takes the road less taken of investing in cryptocurrencies.

During the pandemic-induced lockdown last year, members of the Transgender community lost their livelihood. They had to fend for themselves. Food, shelter, funds, and all other basic necessities were out of reach for them. Mehra being a proactive samaritan lends her hand to aid them.

She donates the money she earned through crypto trading to the welfare of the Transgender community.

The movie underscores the fact that Transgenders are severely marginalized from the mainstream. Earlier, they used to enjoy royal patronage, but today their state is in shambles.

“If a purpose gets the power of action, then nothing can stop it from succeeding,” a rough translation of what she believes in.

Mehra ultimately succeeds in building a circle of people who support both her and the LGBTQIA+ community.

The message in a single sentence is that we just need to do our part, and the universe will help us gradually.

Financial freedom is a basic right. And, everyone should enjoy it. Money is the medium for accessing the various amenities available in society. Losing money means losing that access.

The pandemic has given a different direction to the minds of the masses as they have become more financially prudent. That’s why there’s been a surge in cryptocurrency and stock market investments in the past year. Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador is the epitome of that which started with an anonymous donations of $100k worth of Bitcoin, and transformed into a complete circular Bitcoin and lightning network economy.
