There are currently more than 10,000 job openings in the crypto industry in India, according to an Economic Times (ET) report. Handsome salary packages are up for grabs in the industry.
ET sourced the data from staffing solutions company Xpheno. The report says more than 60% of the vacancies are located in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Gurgaon.
“There has been an exponential scale up in this space. We currently have 185 people of which one-third are in the product and design team. We plan to ramp it up to 250 by the end of the year,” told Mudita Chauhan, head of Human Resources CoinDCX, ET.
Skills Required in the Crypto Job Market
The hottest skills in the industry are Blockchain Specialists, Security Engineers, RippleX Developers, and Front and Back-end developers.
“The skills which we focus on are Node.js, Cyber Security, Blockchain, AWS, Java, PHP, Python, and Data Structures. That would be required for building Platform Architecture, Mobile Development, and Front-End development,” Chauhan added.
Salaries Offered to different professionals
Salaries in the crypto industry can be mind-boggling.
Prasadh MS, the Technology Specialist at Xpheno, revealed to ET that the average salary packages for some niche and specialist skills are witnessing handsome hikes as the war for poaching talent is heating up. “The increased adoption of digital platforms for payment, e-commerce, and logistics has created a queue of IT products, fintech, BFSI, e-commerce and wallet solution employers seeking specialist crypto skillsets.”
A young front-end developer with experience between 2-5 years can earn up to INR 30 lakhs per annum.
Engineers with 8 years of experience can draw salaries of about INR 50 lakh per annum.
The most in-demand professionals are Blockchain Specialists, whose supply is quite restricted. Consequently, they command skyrocketing salary packages.
Mid-career professionals with 12 years of experience could earn about INR 75 lakhs, annually.
The surge in usage of and investment in cryptocurrencies has been a global phenomenon. India ranks 2 after Vietnam in the Global Crypto Adoption Index. Wherever the crypto industry is thriving, demand for professionals also rises simultaneously.
